I look forward to the national bereavement group starting up as I think it will really help me to share my experiences with others who have also suffered such a traumatic loss. Also to listen to other families, to know you are not alone ❤️ sorry for my many words, but just want to let people know you never need to be alone there are people out there who want to help you.

Like a big black hole in my heart but very gradually and slowly I am trying to rebuild my confidence, my life outside my 4 walls… which had become my safe place, no one could touch me see me talk to me… I didn’t have to explain anything to anyone. What I’m trying to say is if you are reading this and have any doubts about asking for support or counselling please do it. It’s not easy, but it really does help to talk and someone there to listen. Do it, believe me it can only be a positive thing.

Did it again!! 🙈 unfortunately my son lost his life to a fatal overdose back in December. This came as such a shock to me and my family as he had been doing so well and with the support of a rehab centre had been clean for 5 months. My life changed forever that day, I will never ever get over the loss of loosing my beautiful boy. I have had lots of support from Martha and had 6 counselling sessions with Margaret. With this support I am trying to rebuild my life around my grief. It’s there

I listened to this podcast with great interest as I have been a service user of SFAD for about 18 months now and have had a lot of support via telehealth calls with Martha and also peer support zoom meetings with both Martha and Gill. I got a lot out of this learning about the importance of self care … if I’m not ok then how can I support my loved one. I also learnt lots of useful tools from CRAFT to enable me to try to support my loved one the best I possibly could.
